#6 – African American Vernacular English


I talk with Dr. K. Aaron Smith, Associate Professor of linguistics in the English Studies Department at Illinois State University, about the intriguing and often misunderstood dialect of African American English.  We look at the dialect through the different realms of linguistics and analyze its structure and development.
